The Best Way to Use Food Sensitivity Testing

Most people with GI issues decide that it must be food sensitivity, so they search for the best test. They get the bloodwork done, spend a ton of money, and then have a laundry list of foods they have to cut out because they’re hurting their gut.

Have you been there, or are you thinking of doing food intolerance testing?

I was there a decade ago and found the ALCAT and spent so much money to get a list of foods to cut out. I cut the foods out and it worked for a bit until it didn’t. I was left wondering why I couldn’t feel better - maybe you have that feeling, too. I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t healing and why the foods I was eating were still giving me symptoms. I also couldn’t understand why my list kept getting bigger and bigger. I started to believe the reports that the food sensitivity tests were junk science and that it wasn’t worth the time, trouble, or money.

I then became a functional nutritionist and I learned the best way to use expensive testing, get the results you’re looking for, and not live with a long list of foods you’re unable to eat.

First, you want to work with a practitioner who understands how to get the most out of a GI healing protocol. Your body wants to heal and rebuild naturally, so by giving it the right building blocks and removing any roadblocks, you can achieve the wellness you’re looking for. Currently, the best food sensitivity test on the market is the MRT from Oxford Biomedical. I like this test because it’s accurate, comprehensive, and reliable. I also use the GI Map to see gut health and look for exactly what’s going on in the gut to cause the issues.

Then, you’ll use these test results to remove the foods and lower inflammation in the body as you’re following a 3-month comprehensive protocol to address why these sensitivities occurred in the first place. Is it an insufficiency of good gut flora? Parasites? Opportunistic flora? Let’s get to the root cause and address it there.

By using the intolerance testing results for 3-6 months, supporting the gut, and following a healing protocol, the foods can be systematically reintroduced, and most clients are able to tolerate those foods again because their bodies are able to digest them again without any symptoms.

Food sensitivity testing isn’t like being celiac or having an allergy to a food. The whole goal with food sensitivity testing is to give your body a break and allow it to heal itself, then add the foods back in as you’re able to tolerate them.

I want you to be able to enjoy those foods again without having any symptoms. I believe that MRT testing and GI Maps are so important to the protocols I create that I’ve built them into the price of my packages. You don’t need to worry about any additional costs due to testing, you’re just focusing on your protocol!
